Vishay launches TSOP15300 wide-frequency IR receiver modules

August 5, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Vishay Intertechnology has introduced the TSOP15300 Series of infrared receiver modules for IR remote-control applications.

The new devices accept modulation frequencies ranging from 30kHz to 68kHz and can receive and demodulate the major remote-control codes available on the market, enabling a single-component universal remote-control solution.

Conventional IR receivers are typically tuned to one center frequency, which limits compatibility and may require several devices to support different code sets. The wider frequency range of the TSOP15300 Series can reduce component counts, system costs and PCB space requirements.

Target applications include televisions, audio systems, gaming consoles, soundbars, set-top boxes and video projectors.

The receivers provide immunity against ripple noise and interference generated by common sources, including IR emissions from CFL lamps and LCD televisions and RF emissions from onboard Wi-Fi antennas.

When paired with a 50mA emitter, the devices support reliable transmission distances of up to 18m.

Each receiver integrates a photodetector, preamplifier circuit and IR filter in a four-pin Heimdall package. Its demodulated output signal can be connected directly to a microprocessor for decoding.

Optimized for short-burst codes, TSOP15300 Series devices operate from a 2.0V to 5.5V supply and draw a typical supply current of 0.35mA. They feature a maximum irradiance of 0.2mW/m² at 45kHz.

The new IR receiver modules are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free and Vishay Green.

Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of six weeks.
