October 27, 2026 / SemiMedia / — STMicroelectronics has introduced four automotive combination sensors integrating angular-rate and multi-axis acceleration sensing. The devices target active and passive safety applications, including crash protection, rollover detection, airbag deployment, vehicle stability control and radar beam stabilization.
The NCS1012BAEP combines z-axis yaw-rate sensing with x- and y-axis low-g acceleration measurement. The NCS1012CAEP provides x-axis roll-rate sensing with y- and z-axis low-g acceleration measurement, while the NCS1012EAEP pairs x-axis roll-rate sensing with x- and y-axis medium-g acceleration measurement.
The NCS10135AEP combines z-axis yaw-rate sensing with three-axis low-g acceleration measurement. These configurations allow designers to select devices according to mounting orientation, required motion measurements and acceleration range.
Angular-rate full-scale options include ±125, ±250 and ±350 degrees per second, with low offset and drift over −40°C to +105°C. Integrated low-pass filters offer −3 dB cutoff options from 12.5 Hz to 400 Hz, alongside an optional single-pole high-pass filter with fast startup.
Across the family, nominal low-g acceleration ranges extend from ±1.5 g to ±34 g, while medium-g options cover ±15.5 g to ±150 g. The accelerometers use independent signal chains and integrated low-pass filtering to minimize noise. Available configurations depend on the selected device.
All four sensors are ISO 26262 compliant, incorporate full internal diagnostics and support SafeSPI for independent monitoring of sensor data. They are the first mass-market products launched following ST’s acquisition of NXP’s automotive and industrial MEMS sensor business in early 2026.
The devices are in production in 24-pin QFN packages measuring 6 × 6 × 1.90 mm. Wettable flanks support optical solder-joint inspection during automotive assembly. ST has committed to product availability for at least 15 years to support long vehicle-program lifecycles.
