June 17, 2026 /SemiMedia/ — Vishay Intertechnology has expanded its Gen 7 platform of 1200 V FRED Pt® Hyperfast rectifiers with six new devices in the eSMP® series SMPC HV package, targeting industrial, automotive and energy power conversion applications.
The new Vishay Semiconductors devices include the VS-E7SX0112-M3V, VS-E7SX0212-M3V and VS-E7SX0312-M3V, along with AEC-Q101-qualified automotive versions VS-E7SX0112HM3V, VS-E7SX0212HM3V and VS-E7SX0312HM3V. The lineup covers 1 A, 2 A and 3 A current ratings with a 1200 V voltage rating.
Vishay said the rectifiers are optimized to provide a strong trade-off between reverse recovery charge and forward voltage drop, while also offering low junction capacitance and short recovery time for devices in their class.
The devices combine a 50 ns recovery time with typical Qrr down to 105 nC, forward voltage drop down to 1.45 V and junction capacitance down to 7.25 pF. These characteristics help reduce switching losses and improve efficiency in high-frequency power conversion circuits.
The rectifiers are housed in compact 4.3 mm × 6.5 mm SMPC HV packages with a low 1.1 mm profile and footprint compatibility with TO-277A. They support non-repetitive peak surge current up to 70 A, making them suitable for compact high-voltage power designs that require high reliability.
For insulation requirements, the devices provide a minimum creepage distance of 5.4 mm and use molding compound with a comparative tracking index of at least 600, corresponding to Material Group I. Vishay said the design can help reduce component count and lower bill-of-materials cost in high-voltage applications based on IEC 60664-1 requirements.
The new rectifiers are intended for use as clamp, snubber and freewheeling diodes in flyback auxiliary power supplies, as high-frequency rectifiers for bootstrap driver functionality and for desaturation protection in fast-switching IGBTs and high-voltage silicon and SiC MOSFETs.
Typical applications include industrial drives and tools, onboard chargers and motors for electric vehicles, energy generation and storage systems, Ćuk converters and industrial LED SEPIC circuits.
The devices feature a planar structure and platinum-doped lifetime control to support reliability and robustness without compromising switching performance. Their optimized stored charge and low recovery current help reduce power dissipation.
The rectifiers are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, meet Moisture Sensitivity Level 1 under J-STD-020 and support high-temperature operation up to +175°C.
Samples and production quantities of the new Gen 7 rectifiers are available now, with lead times of approximately eight weeks.
