August 10, 2026 / SemiMedia / — TDK Corporation has expanded its axial-lead and soldering-star aluminum electrolytic capacitor portfolio by adding 125V-rated components to the B43693/B43793 series and upgrading the 63V products in the B41687/B41787 series.
The expanded portfolio addresses growing demand for compact, high-ripple-current DC-link capacitor banks used with battery voltages ranging from 48V to 120V.
Target applications include small electric vehicles, micromobility platforms, forklifts, electric boats, industrial systems and humanoid robots.
The B43693/B43793 series supports higher DC-link voltages in a single component, reducing the need to connect multiple capacitors in series. This can simplify capacitor-bank design while improving system robustness and efficiency.
The components support ripple currents of up to 21.6A and operating temperatures of up to +140°C. Available capacitance values range from 56µF to 650µF, with can sizes ranging from 16 × 25mm to 21 × 49mm.
The new 125V components are particularly suitable for space-constrained 96V systems exposed to high thermal stress and dynamic load conditions.
The upgraded B41687/B41787 series uses the same axial-lead and soldering-star construction, enabling greater design standardization across different voltage classes. The products operate at temperatures of up to +150°C and offer capacitance values from 510µF to 4,800µF.
All four series feature low equivalent series resistance and high ripple-current capability, helping reduce power losses and improve thermal efficiency in inverter DC-link stages.
Standard vibration resistance reaches 20g, while versions capable of withstanding up to 60g are available upon request. Axial-lead and soldering-star terminals support horizontal or vertical mounting on printed circuit boards and busbars.
Optimized heat-sink mounting can more than double the standard ripple-current capability of the 125V B43693/B43793 capacitors.
For example, the specified ripple current of an 18 × 30mm component increases from 5.2A at an ambient temperature of +105°C to 11.1A when its aluminum case is maintained at +105°C using a heat sink.
This approach can reduce the number of capacitors required in each bank, saving space and lowering assembly costs while maintaining reliability. The capacitors provide a useful life of 2,500 hours at an ambient temperature of +125°C and are RoHS compliant.
