November 28, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Vishay Intertechnology has introduced its new 1500V Automotive Grade 1 Form A solid-state relay, the VORA1150, housed in a 4-pin SMD-8 package. This relay is specifically designed for 800V battery monitoring systems used in automotive, energy storage, and industrial applications.

The VORA1150 features a high 1414V peak repetitive isolation voltage and a low maximum leakage current of 1µA, making it ideal for battery management systems (BMS), pre-charge relays, on-board chargers, and energy storage systems (ESS). The innovative 4-pin design provides a 5mm creepage distance on the output pins, meeting the DIN EN-60644-1 standard for isolation monitoring in 800V battery systems. Additionally, the VORA1150 meets hipot test requirements for 800V battery architectures in electric vehicles (EV).

Key Features and Applications of VORA1150

This AEC-Q102-qualified relay offers increased reliability for industrial HVAC systems and solar panel applications as well. Its high repetitive isolation voltage and mold material with a comparative tracking index (CTI) of 600, combined with a fast turn-on time of 150µs and turn-off time of 250µs, ensure reliable operation across various applications.

Compliant with RoHS, halogen-free, and Vishay Green, the VORA1150 offers an avalanche current capability of 0.9mA, an isolation test voltage of 5300VRMS, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.

Samples and production quantities are available now, with an eight-week lead time.
