Vishay adds 550 V and 600 V options to 193 PUR-SI snap-in capacitors

January 20, 2026 /SemiMedia/ — Vishay Intertechnology said it has expanded its 193 PUR-SI series of snap-in aluminum electrolytic capacitors with new voltage ratings of 550 V and 600 V, targeting high-voltage DC-Link and power conversion designs.

In many high-voltage systems, designers rely on several lower-voltage capacitors connected in series, along with balancing resistors, to handle DC bus levels approaching 1100 V. Vishay said the higher-rated devices allow the same voltage range to be achieved with fewer components, removing the need for balancing circuits and helping reduce board space and bill-of-materials costs.

The company said the capacitors are designed for demanding switching environments, supporting ripple currents of up to 3.27 A. With a rated life of 5,000 hours at 105°C, the parts are intended for long-term operation in industrial and energy-related equipment.

The 193 PUR-SI series covers capacitance values from 47 µF to 820 µF and is offered in a range of compact case sizes. Options include three-pin snap-in terminals to improve mechanical stability on printed circuit boards.

The capacitors are aimed at applications such as switch-mode power supplies, DC-Link filtering, EV and hybrid vehicle power systems, industrial motor drives, solar inverters, UPS units and medical equipment. Vishay said the devices are already in production, with typical lead times of around 18 weeks.
