September 7, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- According to SEMI, total global semiconductor equipment sales this year will drop 18.6% from $107.4 billion last year to $87.4 billion, and are expected to rebound in 2024, returning to $100 billion.

SEMI pointed out that the semiconductor equipment market has entered a period of adjustment in 2023 after years of growth. However, driven by high-performance computing and networking, a strong rebound is expected next year, and the market will grow steadily in the long term.

From the perspective of semiconductor equipment sales regions, China and South Korea will still be the top regions of global equipment spending in 2023 and 2024.

In addition, SEMI also pointed out that due to the sluggish demand for memory from consumers and businesses, sales of DRAM equipment will decrease by 28%, and sales of NAND Flash equipment will decrease by 51%.
