Samsung Electro-Mechanics reportedly raises Shenzhen-supplied MLCC prices by 30%

July 29, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Samsung Electro-Mechanics has reportedly notified sales partners that it will raise prices for multilayer ceramic capacitors..

According to Korean industry reports citing the customer notice, the adjustment covers all MLCC products supplied through the Shenzhen operation. Products shipped on or after August 1, 2026, will be priced 30% above their current levels.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics said structural growth in global electronics demand during recent months has created supply-chain pressure beyond the level the company can absorb internally.

The company said it has continued investing in manufacturing efficiency and production-line expansion. However, it described the price adjustment as necessary to maintain product quality and stable supply.

Earlier industry reports indicated that the company was considering an MLCC increase of approximately 5% to 10%.

Demand from AI servers and data centers is one of the main factors changing the MLCC market. AI computing platforms use large numbers of capacitors around processors, accelerators, memory, power-delivery circuits and high-speed networking components for decoupling, noise suppression and voltage stabilization.

Rising accelerator power and current density are also increasing demand for high-capacitance, compact and high-reliability MLCCs. These components can be difficult to manufacture, while lengthy customer qualification processes limit how quickly effective supply can be expanded.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ Component Solution business recorded first-quarter revenue of KRW 1.4085 trillion, an increase of 16% from a year earlier. The company attributed the improvement partly to higher AI-related sales for servers, power systems and networks, along with expanding automotive MLCC supply.

Korean industry reports citing TrendForce said Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ MLCC book-to-bill ratio reached 1.31 in June, indicating that new orders exceeded shipments. Inventory for some general-purpose MLCC products has reportedly fallen below 30 days.
