July 28, 2026 / SemiMedia / — NVIDIA has reportedly issued another GPU kit price-increase notice to its graphics card manufacturing partners, extending the impact of higher memory costs to a broader range of GeForce products.
A GPU kit generally combines the graphics processor with its associated video memory. NVIDIA supplies these packages to add-in-card partners such as ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and Leadtek, which design the PCB, power circuitry, cooling system and finished graphics card.
According to supply-chain information reported by BenchLife, the latest adjustment covers Blackwell products using GDDR7 as well as other GeForce graphics cards equipped with GDDR6 memory. NVIDIA has not publicly confirmed the notice or disclosed the increase for individual kits.
The move represents the third reported adjustment affecting NVIDIA’s consumer graphics card supply chain in 2026. In January, the company increased the prices of bundled GDDR6 and GDDR7 memory supplied to its partners while leaving GPU prices and the official suggested retail prices of the GeForce RTX 50 series unchanged.
A second adjustment in May primarily affected GPU kits for the GeForce RTX 5090 and the China-focused RTX 5090 D V2. The latest notice reportedly expands the increase to additional products using both generations of graphics memory.
Some reports estimate that consumer graphics card prices could rise by 20% to 30%. However, the original supply-chain report did not disclose this range, and there is no indication that NVIDIA has introduced a uniform increase in official GeForce suggested retail prices.
Price movements have already appeared in parts of China’s retail market. One 16GB GDDR7 GeForce RTX 5070 Ti card increased from 9,299 yuan to 10,700 yuan within one day, representing a rise of approximately 15.1%. The same model reportedly sold for about 8,000 yuan before the January adjustment and approximately 7,200 yuan in November 2025.
Channel reports also indicate that a standard 2GB GDDR7 memory device is priced at about $20, while a 3GB device can cost between $60 and $70. The higher-capacity component provides 50% more memory but reportedly costs about three times as much. Memory manufacturers have not publicly confirmed these figures.
Because a graphics card contains multiple memory devices, higher per-chip prices are multiplied across the card’s total capacity. Models equipped with 16GB or more memory therefore face greater cost pressure, potentially leading manufacturers to raise prices, reduce lower-margin configurations or change product allocation.
Graphics memory is only one part of the cost increase. PCB materials, active and passive components, cooling systems and packaging are also becoming more expensive, making it difficult for board manufacturers to absorb the additional GPU kit cost.
MSI Chairman Joseph Hsu previously said that memory supply visibility had fallen to approximately one month. Suppliers disclose available volumes on a monthly basis, while quantities and prices for the following month remain uncertain, making long-term customer quotations difficult.
