Renesas Announces Second 2026 Price Adjustment, New Pricing Takes Effect January 1, 2027

September 11, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Renesas Electronics has notified customers of another adjustment to its product pricing structure, with new prices scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027. The move marks the company's second pricing action announced in 2026, following an earlier notice issued in March that took effect on July 1.

Renesas cited continued structural cost increases across raw materials, energy, advanced packaging, manufacturing capacity and global logistics as key factors behind the latest adjustment.

Cost pressure has remained elevated across several parts of the semiconductor supply chain this year. Tight advanced packaging capacity, higher manufacturing expenses and rising material costs have increased production costs for chip suppliers across multiple product categories.

Renesas' previous pricing action took effect on July 1 after customers and distribution partners were notified earlier in the year. The latest price adjustment taking effect January 1, 2027 will introduce another pricing change roughly six months after the previous increase became effective.

Renesas has not publicly detailed the full list of affected products or a uniform percentage increase. Pricing may vary by product, customer agreement and existing order terms, making the treatment of quotations, open backlog and long-term agreements an important issue for orders scheduled for delivery after the effective date.

The second pricing action within a year indicates that cost pressure across semiconductor manufacturing, packaging and materials has yet to fully ease, prompting suppliers to review pricing more frequently.
