May 23, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Littelfuse, Inc., a global provider of industrial technology solutions, has introduced the IXD0579M, a compact high-side and low-side gate driver designed for high-efficiency power systems and space-constrained PCB layouts.

Targeted at driving N-channel MOSFETs or IGBTs in half-bridge topologies, the IXD0579M integrates a bootstrap diode and current limit resistor directly into a 3×3 mm² TDFN-10 package, streamlining board design and reducing overall BOM costs. It operates over a broad 6.5 V to 18 V range and supports robust thermal performance from −40 °C to +125 °C.

The IXD0579M offers 1.5 A source and 2.5 A sink output currents and includes features such as under-voltage lockout (UVLO), TTL/CMOS logic level compatibility down to 3.3 V, and built-in cross-conduction protection for added reliability in high-frequency switching applications.

“This product provides engineers with a drop-in solution for common gate driver designs, while also improving supply chain flexibility,” said June Zhang, Product Manager at Littelfuse. “By integrating key passive components into a single IC, it simplifies implementation and enhances system reliability.”

Applications include BLDC motor drives, battery-powered tools, DC-DC converters, and general industrial and electronic systems requiring efficient and compact gate drive solutions.

Samples of the IXD0579M are now available. For more information, please visit IXD0579M high-speed gate driver IC.
