Renesas Electronics announced that it has been working with Alibaba's Alicloud on the IoT field to empower IoT device developers.

Senior Vice President of Renesas Electronics Co., Ltd. and Director of China Business Integration Division, Mr. Tomomitsu Maoka, was invited to attend the Computing Conference on September 19-22 and delivered a keynote speech on the strong technology of Renesas Electronics in the field of Internet of Things and announced a deep strategic cooperation with Alibaba.

At the Computing Conference, Renesas Electronics announced support for the advanced version of AliOS Things in the high-performance 32-bit MCU RX65N/RX651 series. By importing Alicloud's lightweight IoT operating system AliOS Things for IoT in Renesas Electronics' MCU, it can be quickly and easily connected to Alicloud. The RX65N/RX651 incorporates Renesas Electronics' unique security technology, the TSIP, which secures the key and encryption unit to prevent unauthorized use of the encryption module and prevent blind copying. To ensure safe system startup/security upgrade and implement encrypted communication, this will greatly help to build a secure IoT environment.

At the same time, Renesas Electronics announced that it opened its online store in Tmall.com. In addition to its semiconductor products, Renesas also opened up the AliOS Things area in the online store. With the strong promotion channels of Tmall.com, Renesas Electronics will provide products and services to more end users.

To further create a better IoT ecosystem, Renesas Electronics also plans to join Alibaba Cloud University and the ICA IoT Connectivity Alliance to help Alibaba build a IoT ecosystem. Joining ICA, Renesas Electronics expects to work with more alliance members (including Infineon) to jointly develop and improve IoT-related technologies, build relevant alliance standards, promote China's national standards and international standards, and promote the development of IoT market.

Tomomitsu Maoka, Senior Vice President of Renesas Electronics and Head of China Business Integration, said: "By deep cooperation with Alibaba, we hope to provide customers with complete solutions from chip to cloud to help customers develop Internet of Things quickly. Renesas Electronics has a rich MCU product line and comprehensive semiconductor solutions. With Alibaba's powerful IoT ecosystem, we will contribute to smart cities, smart homes, smart factories and more."
