September 26, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Diodes Incorporated has introduced a family of automotive-compliant field-plated Super Barrier Rectifiers, including the 2A SBRFP2M60P1Q and SBRFP2M60SAFQ, 3A SBRFP3M60SAFQ and 8A SBRFP8A60P5Q, targeting DC-DC converters, reverse-polarity protection, battery charging, automotive LED lighting and transmission control systems.
The devices are designed as drop-in replacements for comparable Schottky and PN junction diodes, combining low forward voltage with low reverse leakage to improve conversion efficiency and reduce thermal stress in automotive power designs.
Diodes said its proprietary SBRFP technology uses a MOS-based manufacturing process. The 8A SBRFP8A60P5Q offers a maximum forward voltage of 0.55V at 8A, helping reduce conduction losses in high-current applications. The SBRFP2M60P1Q and SBRFP3M60SAFQ provide maximum reverse leakage currents as low as 12µA and 7µA under specified 25°C and 125°C conditions.
The family also provides enhanced avalanche capability, with energy ratings reaching up to 145mJ depending on the device. Diodes said this is five to ten times greater than conventional Schottky rectifiers, improving tolerance to surge events, load dumps and other transients found in automotive electrical systems.
Package options include PowerDI123 for the SBRFP2M60P1Q, PowerDI5 for the SBRFP8A60P5Q, and SMAF for the SBRFP2M60SAFQ and SBRFP3M60SAFQ. The devices operate across a junction temperature range of -55°C to +175°C.
The four devices are available now. In 1,000-piece quantities, unit pricing is $0.08 for the SBRFP2M60P1Q, $0.26 for the SBRFP8A60P5Q, $0.11 for the SBRFP2M60SAFQ and $0.13 for the SBRFP3M60SAFQ.
