New 1200 V SiC power modules introduced by Vishay

December 4, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Vishay Intertechnology has released two new 1200 V silicon carbide power modules aimed at automotive, energy and industrial applications as demand grows for efficient high-frequency power systems. The VS-MPY038P120 and VS-MPX075P120 use the company’s MAACPAK PressFit package and combine its latest SiC MOSFETs, fast SiC diodes and an integrated NTC thermistor for temperature monitoring.

SiC modules aimed at EV chargers, solar inverters and industrial power systems

The new modules target applications such as EV and hybrid-vehicle chargers, solar inverters, industrial motor drives, DC/DC converters, UPS units, HVAC equipment, welding systems and telecom power supplies. Vishay said the devices reduce switching losses and improve overall efficiency across a wide range of power-conversion platforms.

Built with a rugged transfer-mold structure, the modules offer improved thermal performance and longer operating lifetimes compared with legacy designs. Their low-profile construction helps reduce parasitic inductance and EMI, while the PressFit pin matrix follows industry-standard layouts, enabling drop-in replacement in existing systems.

Module performance, specifications and availability timeline

The VS-MPY038P120 features a full-bridge inverter topology with 38 mΩ on-resistance and a continuous drain current rating of 35 A at +80 °C. The VS-MPX075P120 uses a three-phase inverter configuration with 75 mΩ on-resistance and 18 A continuous current capability. Both modules support high-speed switching and allow maximum junction temperatures up to +175 °C. They are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.

Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of about 13 weeks, according to Vishay.
