October 16, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Vishay Intertechnology has rolled out a new AEC-Q200-qualified 50 W thick-film power resistor in a compact TO-220 form factor, targeting high-reliability automotive and semiconductor systems.

The LTA 50 series is engineered to endure severe automotive conditions, operating reliably under high humidity, vibration, and temperatures up to +175 °C. It maintains stability under extreme electrical and mechanical stress commonly encountered in vehicle electronics.

Covering a wide resistance range from 0.01 Ω to 450 kΩ with tolerances down to ±1 %, the device features a non-inductive design, a dielectric strength of 1500 Vrms, and a limiting-element voltage of 500 V. It is tailored for applications such as precharge/discharge networks in on-board chargers, battery management systems (BMS), and motor control in EV, HEV, and PHEV platforms.

Samples and production volumes of the LTA 50 are available now, with lead times currently at 10 weeks. For more information, please visit https://www.vishay.com/en/product/50086.
