Nexperia faces supply challenges as China export restriction takes effect

October 13, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia is facing export control restrictions on certain finished components and sub-assemblies produced in China, which took effect on October 4, 2025. The company stated that this directive constitutes a force majeure event and may impact the availability of some of its products.

While assessing the overall impact, Nexperia continues to ship products not affected by the new export prohibition. To ensure fair and transparent inventory allocation, the company has implemented a controlled order entry and fulfillment process to align with existing supply limitations and prioritize deliveries.

Industry observers note that the newly enforced export restrictions could exacerbate supply bottlenecks for China-made semiconductor components, potentially creating ripple effects across the global supply chain. Nexperia said it is working closely with its global teams and partners to evaluate the long-term implications and will provide updates as the situation develops.
