April 15, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — The global semiconductor industry is set to enter a "Golden Decade," with industry experts predicting that the market will exceed $1 trillion in value within the next ten years. ASE Group, recognizing this growth potential, is strategically positioning itself to capitalize on the upcoming opportunities.

ASE Group's Chief Operating Officer, Tien Wu, shared his insights on April 11, noting that AI technology is driving a new wave of innovation within the semiconductor sector. The phenomenon of "software leading hardware" has emerged for the first time, signaling a shift in industry dynamics. As AI applications expand, the demand for semiconductors is expected to surge, with this trend set to continue for at least the next decade, fueling significant market growth.

"While navigating policy uncertainties, we must also seize the new opportunities arising from these transformative trends," Wu said. He further emphasized that net-zero policies, system digitalization, and regionalized production are set to bring about profound changes in global semiconductor supply chains and system architectures, accelerating the industry's upgrade.

In this highly competitive global market, ASE Group's Vice Chairman and Chief Procurement Officer, Andrew Tang, highlighted the importance of sustainable development in the semiconductor industry. To ensure long-term competitiveness, ASE will work closely with global supply chain partners in four key areas: technological innovation, supply chain resilience, ESG-focused projects, and expanding strategic partnerships.

At the 2024 Best Supplier Award Ceremony, ASE recognized the valuable contributions of its global partners. This year, ASE introduced more stringent selection criteria, incorporating not only quality, cost, delivery, and technology but also ESG performance. A total of 17 companies received the Best Supplier Award. ASE also partnered with 19 equipment suppliers to drive energy-efficient designs, with a goal of reducing energy consumption by 20% by 2030, contributing to the industry's green transformation.

SEMI's Chief Marketing Officer and President of SEMI Taiwan, Charles Kao, praised ASE as a leader in semiconductor packaging and testing, driving the industry toward advanced technologies and sustainable development. Through close collaboration with customers and supply chain partners, ASE is strengthening the resilience and innovation of the global semiconductor ecosystem.
