September 7, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Global semiconductor sales reached $146.8 billion in July 2026, increasing 135.1% from $62.5 billion a year earlier and 6.4% from $137.9 billion in June, according to data released by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) on September 4.
July marked the 17th consecutive month of month-over-month growth for the global semiconductor market. SIA also said worldwide chip sales during the first seven months of 2026 had already surpassed the industry's previous highest-ever full-year sales total. The monthly figures are compiled by World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) and represent a three-month moving average.
All major regional markets recorded year-over-year growth in July. Sales increased 171.3% in the Americas, 134.9% in Asia Pacific and all other regions, 123.6% in China, 85.2% in Europe and 50.8% in Japan.
On a month-over-month basis, sales rose 9.2% in Japan, 8.7% in the Americas, 6.8% in Asia Pacific and all other regions, 5.2% in Europe and 2.9% in China.
SIA President and CEO John Neuffer said continued strength in the Americas, Asia Pacific and China was driving the industry's strong year-over-year growth.
With AI infrastructure, data center and memory demand continuing to expand, the global semiconductor market remains on a strong growth trajectory. July's $146.8 billion sales total and the 17-month sequence of monthly gains indicate that chip demand remained robust heading into the second half of 2026.
