Recently, Micron released the world's highest-capacity industrial microSD card - Micron i300 1TB3 microSDXC UHS-I, which is designed to address the video surveillance market and other industrial edge storage needs. The MicroSD card is available in capacities from 128 GB to 1 TB and is currently available in volume production.

The MicroSD card uses 96-layer 3D QLC NAND technology, which can be deployed in small and medium-sized cameras and allows video surveillance system users to store high-quality movies for more than three months at a lower cost.

The new MicroSD card minimizes frame loss during a 30-second recording environment at 24/7. In addition, it offers twice the reliability of the hard drive with an average failure time of 2 million hours.

Amit Gattan, senior sales director of Micron's Embedded Division, said: "The i300 eliminates the need to rely on local network cameras for service deployment and opens up more possibilities for a wide range of video surveillance. 96-layer 3D QLC NAND helps us deliver 1 TB of storage capacity in microSD size and accelerate edge storage and cloud-based service models at breakthrough prices."
