Passive electronic components, DRAM and semiconductor wafer prices fell

SemiMediaEdit
March 11, 2019

According to the supply chain, affected by the trade war between China and the United States, the price of DRAM, passive components and semiconductor silicon wafers that had been increasing last year fell sharply during the quarter, and the decline of DRAM and passive components reached 30%. This is beyond market expectations. In addition, the supply chain also indicates that MOSFETs may also cut prices by 5%-10% in the near future.

According to the supply chain, the current inventory of DRAM and passive components is very large, and the situation of semiconductor silicon wafers is relatively healthy. However, the overall market conditions are still affected by trade wars and weak demand, so suppliers are under great pressure on prices.

Since the trend of these electronic components is highly correlated with the demand of the terminal, as the price of components declines, the overall semiconductor and electronics industry will probably be less active in the first half of the year.
