Mouser Electronics has announced a global distribution agreement with Marvell Semiconductor, Inc., which authorizes Mouser to distribute Marvell's Fast Ethernet and Alaska Gigabit Ethernet PHY transceivers worldwide.

Marvell is the world's leading provider of storage, processing, networking, security and connectivity semiconductor solutions. Both the Fast Ethernet and Alaska GbE PHY transceivers use Marvell Virtual Cable Tester (VCT) fault detection technology. This technology enables end users, IT managers and network equipment manufacturers to quickly and remotely analyze cable quality and attributes, avoiding unnecessary equipment returns and field service calls.

“Mouser is pleased to offer Marvell's high-performance, low-power PHY transceivers to our customers, and Marvell has a proven track record of delivering next-generation products that constantly change the way customers move data.” Mouser's Supplier Management President , Kristin Schuetter said.

“Mouser is a proven global partner with top sales and customer support that reflects our own high standards,” said Dean Jarnac, vice president of sales and global distribution for Marvell Americas. “Because of Mouser’s leadership in global distribution, we expect to significantly increase the adoption rate of Ethernet transceivers.”
