The FSA4480 is a high-performance USB Type-C port multimedia switch that supports analog audio headsets, allowing the Universal USB Type-C port to transmit USB 2.0 signals, analog audio and analog microphone signals. The device supports an audio detection path and is a fully integrated and optimized solution that simplifies the import design and minimizes the footprint of the entire solution. In addition, the FSA4480 integrates an I2C interface that is controlled by a host processor, greatly reducing audio pops and clicks due to changes. Packaged in a small WLCSP chip package, the device measures just 2.24 mm x 2.28 mm x 0.5 mm and is ideal for space-constrained mobile applications such as smartphone, tablets, digital cameras and speakers. It can also be used in computing devices, including laptops, desktops, and hybrid laptops.

The NCS21x family of bidirectional current sense amplifiers includes integrated, highly matched precision resistors to provide an accurate, compact system design for measuring small differential voltages. These devices are capable of detecting common-mode voltages from -0.3 to 26 V for high-side and low-side current sensing. The NCS21xR's zero-drift architecture provides low input bias voltage (down to 35 uV) and low offset drift (down to 0.5 uV/°C). Combined with these devices and devices with integrated gain settings, they can detect small voltage drops in the shunt, providing high gain accuracy and excellent temperature performance.

Configured for 50/100/200 and 500/gain options, these devices feature a maximum gain error of ±1% and consume 40 uA of low quiescent current for significantly improved energy efficiency, making them ideal for power-saving battery-powered applications. The small SC-70 and UQFN packages make them ideal for monitoring battery-managed charge and discharge currents in handheld applications such as smartphones, tablets and laptops. With the adoption of USB Type-C in fast-growing markets such as hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as some consumer electronics, these current-sense amplifiers have been used in power management, motor control, and signal conditioning modules.

Wiren Perera, director of ON Semiconductor's IoT, said: "Our new multimedia switches and current sense amplifiers play an important role in managing USB Type-C interfaces in modern mobile devices. Highly integrated design, low power operation and small size They are ideal for space-constrained and power-efficient tablets and smartphones. In addition, these current-sense amplifiers help control the power consumption of larger applications, including white and electric vehicles."
