August 19, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Littelfuse has introduced two new magnetic angle sensors based on Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, the LF53466 and LF53464, designed to deliver 0–360° measurement accuracy with strong thermal stability for use in demanding environments.

Both sensors employ a dual push-pull Wheatstone bridge configuration with four high-sensitivity elements, enabling precise X and Y axis detection. Compared with Hall-effect devices, the TMR design offers superior thermal drift compensation, wide supply voltage compatibility, and higher measurement precision, making it suitable for advanced semiconductor-driven applications in industrial automation and automotive systems.

The LF53466, offered in a TSSOP8 package, achieves angle error below 0.8° in the 200–800 Gs magnetic field range, providing reliable sensing for steering wheel angle detection, pedal position monitoring, and contactless potentiometers. The LF53464, housed in a compact LGA8L package, pushes accuracy further with error below 0.6°, wider airgap capability, and compatibility with smaller, lower-cost magnets. It is targeted at space-limited uses such as rotary encoders, valve and knob position sensing, and compact consumer devices including power tools and smart appliances.

Littelfuse emphasized that the new sensors expand its magnetic sensing portfolio and enable broader adoption across industrial robotics, mobility solutions, and precision control systems. By combining accuracy, resilience, and packaging flexibility, the company aims to support next-generation electronic system design.

Availability

They are available in tape and reel format in quantities of 3000pcs for LF53466 and 4000pcs for LF53464. For more information, please visit https://www.littelfuse.com/products/sensors/speed-sensors/tmr-magnetic-ics/tmr-angle-sensors/lf53464-08tmr.
