Maxim Integrated announces cooperation with Qualcomm on smart cars

Maxim Integrated has announced a partnership with Qualcomm Technologies to help automakers and Tier 1 suppliers integrate Maxim's Automotive Safety Integrity Level solution for infotainment applications using the Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 820 automotive platform.

Maxim's advanced ASIL rated power management, USB charging, next-generation Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link serializers and deserializer, remote tuner and software defined radio technology are optimized for Used in conjunction with the Snapdragon 820 automotive platform. These technical advantages provide excellent support for vehicle safety, energy efficiency, connectivity and wireless signal transmission. As a result, automakers can now implement a scalable, comprehensive development platform that meets the needs of high-performance automotive infotainment systems.
