Analog Devices announces cooperation with Baidu on autonomous driving technology

ADI announced a partnership with Baidu to promote autonomous driving technology. The partnership is expected to provide automated driving solutions for Project Apollo, Baidu's automated driving system platform, including sensor fusion, algorithms and ecosystem partners.

It is understood that in terms of autonomous driving, ADI is committed to developing differentiated technologies to address the performance, reliability and safety that are critical to the future success of autonomous driving. The quality of ADI sensor data enables AI to better understand the world around it and make informed decisions before potential obstacles, helping to reduce the likelihood of auto accidents in vehicles. In addition, Analog Devices' Drive360 navigation and sensing solutions - including radar, lidar and IMU - act as safety shields around the vehicle, as these three sensing modes fuse together to give the vehicle a sense of sight and feel.

According to ADI, the partnership will focus on providing comprehensive, systematic and reliable solutions to autonomous driving and intelligent connectivity that are critical to the future of intelligent transportation. ADI and Baidu will share resources and technologies to further develop Project Apollo's sensing and navigation applications, including RADAR, LIDAR, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), A2B / C2B bus and digital signal processing (DSP) products.

Chris Jacobs, vice president of autonomous communications and security at Analog Devices, said: “There are stunning innovations being developed in China by traditional automotive companies as well as the disruptors in car manufacturing. ADI offers groundbreaking advantages in autonomous driving, cabin electronics, and EV and HEV powertrain. We are excited to collaborate with Baidu.”
