September 30, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Vishay Intertechnology has expanded its seventh-generation platform of 1200 V FRED Pt® Hyperfast rectifiers with four new devices in the eSMP® SlimSMA HV (DO-221AC) package. The new 1 A and 2 A rectifiers are optimized for industrial and automotive systems, offering a balance of low reverse recovery charge and forward voltage drop while achieving minimal junction capacitance and recovery time.
The new devices — VS-E7JX0112-M3, VS-E7JX0212-M3, and AEC-Q101 qualified VS-E7JX0112HM3 and VS-E7JX0212HM3 — feature recovery times down to 45 ns, typical Qrr of 105 nC, forward voltage drop as low as 1.45 V, and junction capacitance as low as 2.5 pF. Packaged in a compact 2.6 mm by 5.2 mm form factor with a low 0.95 mm profile, the rectifiers support surge currents up to 21 A and meet IEC 60664-1 high-voltage design standards.
Vishay said the rectifiers will be used as clamp, snubber and freewheeling diodes in auxiliary power supplies, driver circuits and high-frequency rectifiers. They also provide desaturation protection for fast-switching IGBTs and high-voltage Si / SiC MOSFETs. Target applications include industrial drives, electric vehicle chargers and motors, renewable energy systems and LED power supplies.
Built with a planar structure and platinum-doped lifetime control, the rectifiers ensure high reliability and efficiency at operating temperatures up to +175 °C. The devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, moisture sensitivity level 1, and available now in sample and production quantities with a lead time of eight weeks.
