September 4, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Vishay Intertechnology has introduced the Roederstein MKP1848e, an AEC-Q200 qualified DC-Link metallized polypropylene film capacitor designed to meet the rigorous demands of automotive, energy and industrial power conversion systems. The component supports continuous operation up to +125 °C and passes IEC60384-16 ed.3 Grade III THB testing.

The MKP1848e is targeted at electric vehicle applications such as on-board chargers, powertrains, HVAC systems, e-compressors, and DC/DC converters. It is also suited for industrial uses including fast chargers, solar inverters, hydrogen electrolyzer rectifiers, battery storage, motor drives and UPS systems.

The capacitor offers a capacitance range from 1 µF to 140 µF, with rated voltages from 500 VDC to 1300 VDC. Its low ESR of 1.0 mΩ and 25% higher ripple current density compared to earlier solutions allow significant volume reduction while maintaining high performance.

To address the voltage standards of EVs and PHEVs, the MKP1848e withstands 250 VDC to 800 VDC at +125 °C for limited durations. It also resists 1000 thermal cycles between -40 °C and +125 °C, demonstrating strong thermal shock capability. Customized terminal options are available.

Samples and production volumes are available, with lead times of around 10 weeks. For more information, please visit https://www.vishay.com/en/product/26085.
