September 2, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — TrendForce has released its latest ranking of global foundry revenue, showing industry sales climbed to an all-time high of $41.7 billion in the second quarter of 2025, up 14.6% from the previous three months. The surge was driven by China’s consumption subsidies that spurred early orders, as well as anticipated demand for new smartphones, PCs and servers in the second half of the year.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) strengthened its dominance with $30.24 billion in revenue, a quarterly rise of 18.5%, boosting its global market share to 70.2%. Samsung remained in second place, while Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) ranked third with $2.21 billion. SMIC saw higher shipments from early orders, but revenue slipped 1.7% due to shipment delays and lower average selling prices.
China’s HuaHong Group posted $1.06 billion in revenue, placing sixth, supported by higher utilization despite weaker pricing. Hefei-based Nexchip recorded nearly 3% growth to $360 million, maintaining its ninth-place position.
TrendForce expects seasonal pull-ins in the third quarter, with advanced nodes fueled by new chip orders and mature nodes supported by peripheral IC demand. High-value wafers are likely to further lift industry revenue, while overall utilization rates are projected to rise again.
