November 12, 2024

November 12, 2024 /SemiMedia/ — onsemi has launched the Treo Platform, an advanced analog and mixed-signal solution based on 65nm Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD) process technology. This platform aims to support a wide range of applications, including efficient power management, high-performance sensing, and specialized communication devices, streamlining product development for customers.

With increasing power demands in automotive, industrial, and data center markets, along with stricter environmental regulations, there is a growing need for more efficient and integrated solutions. The Treo Platform is designed to meet these requirements by offering enhanced performance and energy efficiency for applications spanning from automotive systems to medical wearables.

The Treo Platform provides superior features, supporting a wide voltage range from 1V to 90V and operating temperatures up to 175°C. Its modular, system-on-chip (SoC)-like architecture includes a comprehensive set of IP building blocks for compute, power management, sensing, and communications, enabling flexible configuration and improved performance.

Key Applications and Benefits

  • Automotive: High-performance ultrasonic sensors based on the Treo Platform can double the detection accuracy in park assist systems, enhancing collision avoidance and overall safety.
  • Healthcare: The platform's ultra-low-power Analog Front Ends (AFEs) improve continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices, delivering more precise glucose readings, reducing device size, and extending battery life, resulting in fewer replacements and improved patient comfort.
  • Data Centers: Treo enables compact smart power stages for GPUs and CPUs, enhancing power delivery efficiency, reducing cooling needs, and contributing to lower operational costs and environmental impact.

Initial product offerings, including voltage translators, low-dropout (LDO) regulators, AFEs, and ultrasonic sensors, are already sampling. Through 2025, onsemi plans to expand the product lineup to include high-performance sensors, DC-DC converters, automotive LED drivers, and connectivity solutions.

The Treo Platform aims to accelerate time-to-market, offering a scalable, customizable foundation for customers' evolving needs.
