July 2, 2024 /SemiMedia/ -- According to reports citing data released by the Korea Customs Service, South Korea's exports grew 5.1% to $57.07 billion in June, marking the ninth consecutive month of year-on-year export growth.

Among them, the export value of all IT products including semiconductors, displays, computers and wireless communication equipment has increased for four consecutive months, and the largest export product semiconductor has increased for eight consecutive months. In June, South Korea's semiconductor exports exceeded $13.4 billion, an increase of 50.9% over the same period last year, setting a record high.

South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy analyzed that as the demand for high-value memory products in AI servers continues to expand, memory chip prices continue to rise by double digits, and semiconductor exports are showing a strong trend. Among them, memory exports, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), increased by 85% to $8.8 billion, as demand for it surged due to the AI boom. In addition, system semiconductor exports increased by 9% to $4.1 billion.
