WSTS: Global semiconductor market is expected to grow by 16.3% in 2022

The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Organization (WSTS) recently released the latest forecast data on the semiconductor market, saying that the global semiconductor market is expected to grow by 16.3% in 2022 and continue to grow by 5.1% in 2023. In addition, in 2023, the logic chip market is expected to reach $200 billion, accounting for about 30% of the total market size.

Following strong growth of 26.2% in 2021, WSTS expects the global semiconductor market to reach $646 billion in 2022, an increase of 16.3%.

WSTS predicts that in the growth of chip products in 2022, logic chips are expected to increase by 20.8% year-on-year, analog chips are expected to increase by 19.2% year-on-year, and memory chips are expected to increase by 18.7% year-on-year. Optoelectronics is expected to remain flat year-on-year.

From a regional perspective, WSTS noted that all regions of the world are expected to experience varying degrees of growth. Asia Pacific is expected to grow by 13.9%, the Americas by 22.6%, Europe by 20.8% and Japan by 12.6%.
