According to South Korean media reports, Samsung Group Vice Chairman Lee Jae Yong will discuss investment and acquisition cases during his recent trip to Europe, and NXP may be the acquisition target.

The report pointed out that there have been rumors that Samsung Group intends to acquire European semiconductor manufacturers, including NXP, Infineon and ARM. However, due to the impact of the epidemic, the plan was temporarily suspended.

In addition, Samsung will visit ASML in the Netherlands. The industry believes that Samsung's trip is to purchase ASML's EUV equipment and negotiate the cooperation of the next-generation EUV lithography machine in order to compete with TSMC in wafer foundry.
