DRAM prices start to fall

According to Nikkei Asia, the price of DDR4 8Gb in August fell 2% from July to about US$3.8 each, and the price of 4Gb products fell 2% to US$3.1 each. Even the DDR3 2Gb, which is in short supply, has stopped rising, and the current price is the same as in July, at US$2.5 each.

The report pointed out that due to shortages, DRAM manufacturers began to increase production in February this year. After 3 months of material preparation and production, the increased production capacity began to be shipped in June. However, the demand has also changed at the same time, and as a result, the DRAM shortage has begun to ease.

However, Nikkei also pointed out that although DRAM prices are in a downward trend, the prices of mainstream products are still 50% higher than the same period last year.
