Vishay Intertechnology has expanded its power transformer portfolio with the new Vishay Dale IFBT series of surface-mount flyback transformers, comprising 17 devices designed for flyback converter topologies.

The IFBT series operates across a 26 V to 72 V input voltage range at 250 kHz and provides 1500 VRMS isolation for 60 seconds between the primary and bias windings and the secondary.

The transformers use multiple windings that can be configured in series or parallel to support different voltage and current requirements. The series supports output voltages from 1.8 V to 24 V and output currents from 0.5 A to 9.0 A, with inductance values ranging from 35.0 µH to 75.0 µH.

The RoHS-compliant devices operate over a temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C.

Vishay said the IFBT series is designed for 6 W and 30 W PoE applications, as well as isolated DC/DC converters rated up to 30 W. Target applications include automotive lighting LED drivers, energy generation and distribution systems, industrial drives and automation, home and building controls, consumer products, appliances, telecom equipment and medical instrumentation.

The open construction also allows customers to modify winding configurations for specific voltage and current requirements.

Samples and production quantities of the IFBT series are available now, with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks.
