TDK-Lambda releases 60V ORing FET modules with low Rds(on) for redundant power

March 19, 2026 /SemiMedia/ — TDK Corporation said its TDK-Lambda unit has introduced the i1R series ORing FET modules, targeting redundant power architectures where low loss and fast fault response are required.

The modules are rated for 60 A and 80 A operation with a maximum input of 60 Vdc, and are designed as drop-in replacements for diode-based ORing circuits. By using MOSFETs instead of diodes, the i1R series significantly reduces forward voltage drop, improving system efficiency and lowering thermal load.

A typical on-resistance of 2.5 mΩ and 1.5 mΩ helps minimize conduction losses, which becomes critical in high-current designs. The modules also feature a fast turn-off time of around 500 ns, limiting reverse current during fault events and helping protect upstream power sources.

The fully integrated design removes the need for external components, simplifying layout and reducing design complexity. The shielded 1 x 1-inch package supports improved thermal performance while saving board space in dense power designs.

Target applications include communications infrastructure, test and measurement systems, and industrial or robotics platforms exposed to high shock and vibration. The i1R series can be used alongside existing TDK-Lambda converters, but is also suitable for general-purpose DC power architectures requiring efficient ORing control.
