ROHM adds DFN8080 and TOLL packages to 600V Super Junction MOSFETs

July 16, 2026 / SemiMedia / — ROHM has expanded its 600V Super Junction MOSFET portfolio with the R60xxXNx and PrestoMOS™ R60xxWNx series, adding DFN8080-5L and TOLL surface-mount packages for high-density power supplies used in AI servers, data centers and industrial equipment.

Increasing processing loads in AI and industrial systems are raising power requirements while placing tighter limits on power supply size. This makes switching loss, thermal performance and package density increasingly important when engineers select MOSFETs for high-output power conversion circuits.

The DFN8080-5L package measures 8.0 × 8.0 × 0.85mm, while the TOLL package measures 11.68 × 9.9 × 2.3mm. Both offer compact, low-profile construction and improved heat dissipation for applications that require higher power density within restricted board space.

ROHM specified the gate threshold voltage of the new MOSFETs at 3V to 5V, a range commonly used by standard products. This supports a broad range of gate-drive conditions and makes the devices easier to evaluate in existing power supply designs.

The company also improved the admittance characteristics of the devices to reduce loss and increase circuit flexibility compared with the existing R60xxYNx and PrestoMOS™ R60xxVNx series. Their commonly used surface-mount footprints can simplify component replacement and help manufacturers qualify second sources as part of multi-supplier procurement strategies.

The lineup includes 21 R60xxXNx models optimized for high-speed switching and 11 PrestoMOS™ R60xxWNx models featuring high-speed reverse recovery characteristics. Maximum on-resistance options across the listed devices range from approximately 26mΩ to 204mΩ, allowing engineers to select parts according to conduction loss, switching speed, reverse recovery performance and package requirements.

Target applications include power supplies for AI servers and data centers, PFC, LLC and flyback circuits in industrial and consumer equipment, and motor or inverter systems used in fans and AC servo equipment.

ROHM began sequential mass production in June 2026, with sample pricing set at $7 per unit before tax. Online sales have started for the TOLL-packaged R6020XNJ2, R6038XNJ2, R6049XNJ2, R6055XNJ2, R6024WNJ2 and R6035WNJ2 through distributors including DigiKey.
