Mar. 8, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- According to the report, Kyocera recently closed its photovoltaic panel factory in Tianjin, China.

The report pointed out that the factory mainly produces industrial photovoltaic panels used in photovoltaic power plants, and production has ceased in September 2022.

So far, Kyocera has only one photovoltaic panel production base, which is the Yasu factory in Shiga, Japan.

In the field of photovoltaic panels, competition between Kyocera and Chinese companies is fierce. Therefore, Kyocera will specialize in the production of residential products, which are relatively easy to ensure profitability, and focus on high value-added fields that combine storage batteries and energy management systems.

The report pointed out that residential products have been produced by the Yasu factory, and industrial products have been produced by the Tianjin factory, and have gradually been entrusted to Chinese manufacturers for production.
