November 2, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Foxconn aims to increase its global AI server market share from about 40 percent to around 45 percent in 2027 and potentially 50 percent within the next few years, Chairman Young Liu told CNBC.
Liu said production capacity was fully booked for at least the next 18 months. Demand remains strong, led mainly by AI model developers and cloud service providers, while broader adoption by governments and enterprises is still developing.
AI infrastructure could account for 60 to 65 percent of Foxconn’s revenue in three to five years, Liu said. That projection excludes edge AI devices that process AI workloads locally.
Foxconn plans to expand US manufacturing and move further upstream in the supply chain. Given higher US production costs, the initial focus will be on products with stronger margins, including AI server racks and data center equipment. Liu expects greater scale to help reduce costs over time.
Annual AI investment could exceed the previously planned $3 billion to $5 billion, depending on the extent of vertical integration. Liu nevertheless emphasized spending discipline as the company expands beyond servers into broader data center infrastructure and computing services.
He said growth from other customers could offset reduced spending by an individual buyer. An industry wide slowdown, however, would present a larger challenge for Foxconn and the broader AI supply chain.
