November 2, 2026 / SemiMedia / — The average contract price for DDR4 8Gb 1Gx8 chips rose to $27.50 in October, up 5.77 percent from $26 in September, according to DRAMeXchange data released on October 30. Supply reductions are supporting prices despite weak PC demand.
TrendForce expects PC DRAM contract prices to increase 13 to 18 percent in the fourth quarter from the previous quarter. Suppliers are prioritizing server memory, and the research firm forecasts that Korean manufacturers will cut PC DRAM output by more than 20 percent in 2027.
Buyers have resisted proposed price increases of 15 to 20 percent during fourth quarter negotiations, delaying major agreements. TrendForce nevertheless expects deals concluded in November to carry slightly higher prices than in October as supply remains constrained.
NAND pricing is diverging by product type. The average contract price for 128Gb 16Gx8 MLC NAND used in memory cards and USB drives stayed at $30.61 in October. Reduced mature process supply was offset by purchasing resistance at elevated prices.
SLC NAND prices rose 5 to 10 percent during the month, supported by automotive, industrial control and low Earth orbit satellite demand. Products with capacities of 4Gb and above recorded increases of about 9.0 to 9.9 percent.
TrendForce expects large capacity SLC prices to continue rising in the fourth quarter. MLC prices could soften slightly as customers adjust product choices and demand declines, while manufacturers continue shifting investment toward advanced 3D NAND.
