UMC will increase foundry price by 10% next year

According to sources in the semiconductor industry, UMC is considering increasing its foundry quotations starting next year, especially orders for 28nm and 40nm processes will increase by at least 40%.

It is reported that since the fourth quarter of 2020, UMC has been increasing its foundry quotations. In addition, the supply chain source said that the power management chip maker, Network communication chip maker, etc. have received notice of price increase from UMC, and the increase will be at least 10% to 20% next year.

In this regard, UMC said that it will not respond to price issues, and the industry trend will be explained to the public on April 28.
