Globalfoundries announced that it will sell part of its assets in the Burlington photomask business to Toppan Photomasks, a subsidiary of Japanese company Toppan.

According to Globalfoundries, it has signed a multi-year supply agreement with Toppan, which will provide Globalfoundries with photomasks and related services currently supported by the Photomask manufacturing facility in Burlington, Vermont, USA. As part of the agreement, Toppan will acquire some of the assets of the Globalfoundries Burlington Photomask facility.

Globalfoundries did not mention the specific amount of the transaction. However, the agreement mentions that the joint venture Advanced Mask Technology Center will accept assets such as GF factory's photomask manufacturing equipment, and the two parties will cooperate to complete the transfer in the next few months.
