NXP to raise semiconductor prices from June amid rising costs

May 12, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — NXP Semiconductors has informed customers that it will implement new pricing adjustments starting June 1, 2026, citing continued cost increases across materials, energy, labor, logistics and supplier operations.

NXP, one of the major suppliers of automotive and industrial semiconductors, said the pricing changes are linked to ongoing inflationary pressure across several parts of the electronics supply chain. The company added that account managers will contact customers directly regarding part-specific pricing details.

The latest move highlights continued pricing pressure across the semiconductor industry, especially in automotive and industrial segments where demand remains relatively stable. Rising costs tied to manufacturing, transportation and raw materials have pushed more chipmakers to review pricing policies in recent months.

Industry sources noted that automotive semiconductors, power devices and industrial chips are more likely to see pricing adjustments because of long product cycles and strict supply requirements. Suppliers are also facing continued investment needs for capacity expansion and advanced process technologies.

NXP said it will continue investing in product development and customer support despite the higher operating costs. Analysts believe the company’s latest adjustment reflects a broader effort within the semiconductor sector to balance long-term supply commitments with rising production expenses.
