August 29, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Infineon Technologies AG is expanding its role in humanoid robotics by integrating its microcontrollers, sensors and motor control technologies with NVIDIA’s Jetson Thor platform. The collaboration aims to deliver scalable, energy-efficient solutions for next-generation humanoid robots deployed in manufacturing, logistics and healthcare.

Infineon provides a suite of dedicated solutions for robotics, including its AURIX and PSOC microcontroller families that feature multi-core real-time processing and industry-leading security functions to safeguard systems against cyber threats. Building on its leadership in automotive microcontrollers, Infineon is leveraging decades of experience in safety-critical applications to support precise robotic motion control.

Following its acquisition of Marvell’s automotive Ethernet unit, Infineon has also strengthened its networking portfolio with the BRIGHTLANE series, bringing high-speed data communication to humanoid robot architectures.

At the control level, Infineon’s PSOC Control C3 microcontrollers integrate with NVIDIA’s Holoscan Sensor Bridge and Jetson Thor modules to provide real-time reasoning and performance scaling. These devices are particularly suited for implementing field-oriented control (FOC) algorithms, enabling stable torque output, reduced vibration and quieter motor operation.

Complementing its microcontrollers, Infineon offers a complete motor control chipset featuring gallium nitride (GaN) transistors, advanced gate drivers and current sensors. This integrated approach helps robotics developers address design complexity while improving efficiency and performance.

By combining semiconductor innovation with NVIDIA’s AI platforms, Infineon is positioning itself as a key enabler of humanoid robots capable of handling increasingly complex tasks.
