July 22, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Vishay Intertechnology has introduced the VLMRGB6122.., a new tricolor LED designed for automotive interiors, full-color displays, and high-performance backlighting. Housed in a compact 3.5 mm × 2.8 mm × 1.4 mm PLCC-6 package, the device features independent anode and cathode connections for red, green, and blue chips, enabling precise color control across the full gamut defined in the CIE 1931 color space.

Built with advanced AllnGaP and InGaN technologies, the LED offers up to 70% higher brightness than previous-generation models while maintaining a 22% thinner profile than comparable devices. It delivers luminous intensity up to 2800 mcd at 20 mA, making it suitable for ambient lighting, dashboard indicators, switch illumination, and full-color signage.

The VLMRGB6122.. meets AEC-Q102 qualifications and operates in harsh environments with a temperature range from -40 °C to +110 °C and corrosion resistance at Class B1. ESD protection is rated at 2 kV for red and 8 kV for green and blue in accordance with JESD22-A114-B. The LED is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green, and supports IR reflow soldering. Each reel is categorized by luminous intensity, color, and forward voltage to ensure uniformity.

Samples and production units are available now, with standard lead times of 17 weeks. For more information, please visit https://www.vishay.com/en/product/80526/.
