June 19, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — TDK Corporation has unveiled the ADL8030VA series, a compact inductor optimized for power-over-coaxial (PoC) applications in automotive systems. Featuring high impedance across wide frequency ranges, the new inductor simplifies PoC filter designs by replacing multiple traditional inductors with a single component. This design streamlines wire harness architecture and cuts costs in space-constrained systems like advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

PoC technology enables power and data to be transmitted through a single coaxial cable, eliminating the need for separate power and signal lines. This reduces cabling weight and complexity in automotive platforms while improving reliability.

The ADL8030VA measures just 7.8 x 2.7 x 2.7 mm and offers inductance values from 10 µH to 100 µH. With rated currents up to 0.82 A and a low DC resistance below 0.5 Ω for 22 µH or lower types, the component supports efficient energy delivery with minimal loss. It is built with a ferrite core, flame-retardant molding, and welded enamel copper wire terminals to ensure mechanical stability in harsh environments. The series meets the AEC-Q200 automotive standard.

TDK’s latest inductor reinforces its strategy to enhance semiconductor integration in automotive power and signal systems, offering robust and miniaturized passive components to support the growing complexity of in-vehicle electronics.
