December 26, 2024 /SemiMedia/ — onsemi and tier-one automotive supplier DENSO CORPORATION announced the strengthening of their long-term partnership to support the development of autonomous driving (AD) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

For over a decade, onsemi has supplied DENSO with advanced intelligent automotive sensors, enhancing ADAS and AD performance. These semiconductors play a crucial role in improving vehicle intelligence, connectivity, and safety, helping to reduce traffic accident fatalities.

“DENSO’s increased collaboration with us reflects its confidence in our innovative capabilities, automotive expertise, and supply chain resilience,” said Hassane El-Khoury, president and CEO of onsemi.

“As the second largest global supplier of automotive systems and parts, DENSO relies on a strong supply chain for critical components like semiconductors to deliver reliable, cutting-edge products,” said Shinnosuke Hayashi, president of DENSO CORPORATION. “Collaborating with industry leaders like onsemi, which has been advancing vehicle safety and autonomy through its intelligent sensing technologies, ensures the supply security we need.”

As a symbol of their partnership, DENSO plans to acquire onsemi shares on the open market to further solidify their long-term relationship.
