June 27, 2024 /SemiMedia/ -- Texas Instruments (TI) recently highlighted the key role of its Indian business and stressed that India has a rich engineering talent pool. Santhosh Kumar, director and general manager of TI India, pointed out that one of the biggest advantages of the Indian ecosystem is engineers.

Santhosh Kumar said that TI's engineering teams in India are an indispensable force in developing chips that enable safer automotive radar sensing, and help more energy-efficient and smarter personal electronics, renewable energy power management chips, and safer and more powerful space technologies. These teams have a wide range of expertise, including analog, digital, software, power management and connectivity.

"Indian engineers have rich experience and are involved in every stage of the chip design process. TI has launched a series of local initiatives in India to cultivate engineering talent and collaborate with Indian academia and research institutions," said Santhosh Kumar.

“TI has been focusing on the advancement of semiconductor technology for electric vehicles and our innovation in this space extends beyond India to global markets. The shift to software-defined vehicles, driven by semiconductor technology, is critical to enabling the world’s move toward an electric vehicle transportation future,” added Santhosh Kumar.
