Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. announced that its manufacturing subsidiary Izumo Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., located in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, will begin construction of a new production building at its Iwami Plant (Hane) in March 2022.

Murata revealed that the purpose for constructing the new production building is to establish a system that can respond to the medium- to long-term increase in demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors.

The new production building has a total investment of 12 billion yen and covers an area of 6,314 square meters. It will be used for the production of MLCCs. It is planned to break ground on March 24, 2022 and be completed in April 2023.
