TAIYO YUDEN CO., LTD., announced on the 21st that TAIYO YUDEN (SARAWAK) SDN. BHD. (Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia), a subsidiary of TAIYO YUDEN, will construct a new plant.

Taiyo Yuden expects that the demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors will further expand in response to the advancement of technologies for automobiles with more electrical and electronically controlled components, communications infrastructures such as servers and base station communication devices, 5G smartphones, and other markets.

TAIYO YUDEN (SARAWAK) is one of the TAIYO YUDEN Group's production overseas sites for multilayer ceramic capacitors. The construction of this new plant is an investment under the Group's Medium-term Management Plan 2025. The new plant will be a state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly plant that will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases through energy conservation by improving the efficiency of various facilities and energy creation by introducing solar power generation on the roof of the building.

According to Taiyo Yuden, the construction of the new plant at the TAIYO YUDEN (SARAWAK) is based on its mid-term growth strategy and is part of Taiyo Yuden's efforts to build a production system that meets the growing market demand.
