Skyworks gets approval to suuply Huawei

In the fourth quarter earnings meeting, Skyworks said it has obtained approval to supply Huawei, but only for the supply of certain products. Currently, Skyworks is communicating with Huawei to clarify the products that Huawei needs.

A few years ago, Huawei used to be Skyworks' second largest customer, and the current sales revenue from Huawei only accounts for a small portion. Skyworks CEO Liam Griffin emphasized, “We know how to cooperate with Huawei. Huawei is a high-end company and praises the integrated radio frequency technology we provide. Although trade restrictions have hindered our cooperation, once it returns to normal, we will be able to supply normally as before.”

Skyworks said it is also actively cooperating with other Chinese smartphone manufacturers, so it can offset part of the impact of Huawei's sales revenue reduction.

Liam Griffin pointed out that Huawei’s smartphone shipments have been significantly reduced due to trade restrictions. At present, Huawei’s market share has been gradually re-divided by other brands. For these changes, Skyworks will calibrate the solution required by the customer through design modification and some necessary work.
